| Bonalba Bowls Club 1st Anniversary Celebration |

In October Bonalba Bowls Club celebrated its first anniversary and is now firmly established as an integral part of the Bonalba Spa and Golf sports complex.
To mark the occasion the Club's inaugural Founders Day Cup competition was held in October, the event was sponsored by Avalon The Life Care Service and K& D Fire and Security Curtains. The competition attracted 16 mixed triple teams from 6 Clubs, with a first prize of 300 euros and a second prize of 150 euros. The team from La Marina Club consisting of Credwen Davies, Leighton Davies and Roy Murcer reached the Final having lost only one match during the Pool stage as did the other finalist comprising Diane Ridley, Chako Hollins and Doug Brown form Bonalba.. In a close fought final which contained excellent bowling La Marina won 9-6 after 10 ends.
The 2 day event was a great success and enjoyed by all who participated.
In its first Year Bonalba Bowls Club hosted training sessions for both the Spanish womens and mens National Teams.
Additionally the Club have been successful in winning the Costa Blanca Bowls Association Mixed Fours, runner up in the Federation Champion of Champions ladies singles, a number of Club bowlers reached the quarter finals, of the Spanish National Championships, we also have one lady member who represents Spain and in November will be playing against Portugal in a test match.
Commenting on the Founders Day Competition Club President Joe Ridley said, it had been a successful two days with some excellent bowling with all matches played in good spirit.
Club days are Monday and Wednesday afternoons and Friday mornings where both experienced and new Bowlers will be made most welcome.
